Gorgon Gas Project

AES staff have been involved in many facets of the Gorgon Gas Project. Our staff was responsible for obtaining approvals to enable drilling onshore for the Carbon Dioxide Injection wells, drilling of foundation, and expansion production wells, subsea installation and construction of Gorgon Stage 2 infrastructure, and operation of foundation and stage 2 infrastructure.  We have been responsible for developing Oil Pollution Emergency Plans and offshore stakeholder consultation processes.  Our team continues to support Chevron with complex Environmental Impact Assessments for this world-class project.

Waitsia Gas Project - Stage 2

Having been involved in the environmental approvals to support the Waitsia Stage 1 Expansion, AES staff were engaged to get primary approval development back on track for the Waitsia Stage 2 project and never looked back. We supported MEPAU through the EPA assessment process, the development of Part IV management plans, and the subsequent development of construction, decommissioning, and operations Environment Plans for the project. We developed Part V Works Approval documents and supported MEPAU through the assessment process. Once approved one of our team was then deployed for a two-year contract to oversee the implementation of environmental commitments and ensure compliance burden on the team was reduced and environmental performance was maintained.

Following a review of an existing Environmental Regulatory Approval Plan, AES supported Hazer Group Limited through its environmental approval journey. AES was responsible for developing Part V Clearing Permit, Part V Works Approval, and a Development Application for the plant. In addition, we facilitated S18 approvals under the Aboriginal heritage act by engaging with a specialized heritage consultancy and helped demonstrate that ARENA funding commitments were met.
